About the Book
Textbook of Environmental Science and Technology has become an essential branch from primary education to higher education. Both economic and social development are vital for over all development of any country. This type of sustainable development involves environmental protection in terms of saving forest life, guarding biodiversity, adopting water resources management, arresting pollution, controlling world population and developing eco-friendly technologies. This book focuses on natural resources, eco-systems, biodiversity, environmental pollution, solid waste management and watershed management in addition to the Social Issues.

About the Authors
Dr. Anji Reddy Mareddy, completed two P.G. Degrees, M.Sc, from Andhra University and M.Tech, Civil Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, India, and then joined the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU), Hyderabad in 1989. He was awarded the doctoral degree by JNTU, in 1995. He has more than 17 years of teaching and research experience in Remote Sensing and GIS for Environmental Management. He is presently working as Professor of Environmental Science and Technology and Director, Institute of Science and Technology, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University. He has been guiding Ph.D, M.Tech and M.Sc students in the area of Environmental Geoinformatics and related areas. He is also Chairman, State Level Environmental Expert Appraisal Committee (SEAC) Andhra Pradesh.
He has executed number of research projects sponsored by State and Central Government organizations. He has published and presented number of papers on various themes of remote sensing and GIS applications to environment in reputed international and national journals. He authored textbooks, namely, Remote Sensing and Geographical Information Systems, Geoinformatics for Environmental Management and Textbook of Digital Image Processing. He has edited the five proceeding volumes of International Conference on Environmental Management.
