About the Author:
Abhijit Chakrabarti, Ph.D. (Tech) is a Former Professor of
Electrical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Engineering Science and
Technology, Shibpur. He is the former Head of the Department, Electrical
Engineering, IIEST Shibpur, and former Vice-Chancellor of Jadavpur University.
He is also the former Vice Chairman of West Bengal State Council of Higher
Education, Government of West Bengal. Dr. Abhijit Chakrabarti has over 30 years
of teaching and research experience in the diverse field of Power System
Engineering and 5 years of experience in the industry. He has published 132
research papers in peer-reviewed international and national journals as well as
in conferences. He has authored 18 books in electrical engineering. He was actively
involved in various research projects funded by Centrally Funded Organizations
like AICTE, UGC as Principal Investigator. He was a member of EEAC of the
National Board of Accreditation, Government of India as well as a visiting
member of IET, UK in the accreditation process of ADAMS, UK. He has visited
foreign countries like Japan, the USA, and the UK. He is a fellow of the
Institution of Engineers, India, and a member of IET, UK. He is the recipient
of the Pandit Madan Mohan Malyavia award and Power Medal as well as the best
paper award (twice) for his research publications. He is a member of different
boards and committees in universities in Indía and an expert member in numerous
technical and standing committees. He is the Member of Governing Body of the
National Council of Science Museum (NCSM), Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India.
He is the Chairman of the Executive Committee of NCSM, Eastern Region (BITM,
Head Quarter Zone and Research Lab). He is acting as a Member of the Advisory
Committee of the National Library, Kolkata, Govt. of India. He has an active
interest in resear related to Power System Engineering, Electrical Machines,
Power Electronics and Electric Circuits. |
