About the Book:
"Pharmacognosy and Phytochemistry – II Theory and Practical: A Comprehensive Guide", this book offers clear and concise explanations for both theoretical and practical topics, allowing readers to delve into the fascinating field of plant metabolites and phytoconstituents.
In the theory section, readers will explore topics such as the biosynthesis of plant metabolites and popular plants containing therapeutically important secondary metabolites. They will also learn about the isolation, identification, and analysis of phytoconstituents, as well as their industrial production, estimation, and utilization. The book covers traditional and modern methods of extraction, along with the applications of chromatography, electrophoresis, and spectroscopy.
Beyond theory, readers can put their knowledge into practice with a range of engaging experiments. These experiments include exploring the morphological, histological, powder microscopical, and chemical characteristics of crude drugs. Readers will also have the opportunity to isolate phytochemicals, extract volatile oils, and separate sugars using paper chromatography.
Written in lucid and accessible language, "Pharmacognosy and Phytochemistry – II Theory and Practical" is a must-have resource for students, researchers, and professionals in the fields of pharmacology, botany, and natural healthcare. |
