About the Book
In the Second Edition, the utility of the book is enhanced by addition of some useful information and by thoroughly revising the contents in the books. It is hoped that the present edition will be welcomed and found to be quite useful by Electrical Engineering teaching faculyt as students. Salient Features • All the chapters of the first edition are revised • More information has been added to chapter on “Introduction to Advanced Topics” • Effect of Shunt Compensators, Controllable VAR Generation, Switching Converter type VAR generators are added • The topic on ‘Voltage Stability’ is extended with some mathematical treatment and methods of preventing voltage collapse are mentioned • In “State Estimation chapter,” Least Squares Estimation procedure is elaborated |
About the Author
P.S.R.Murty, B.Sc.(Engg.),M.E., Dr.-Ing(Berlin) received German academic Exchange Service fellowship for higher studies and training at Technical University, Berlin. He worked as Assistant Professor at Regional Engineering College, Warangal for more than 13 years. He later worked as Professor of Electrical Engineering for 20 years at Osmania University College of Engineering holding several academic and administrative positions such as Principal and Dean, Faculty of Engineering. After retirement, P.S.R. Murthy, is presently working as Director, School of Electrical Engineering at Sreenidhi Institute of Science and Technology, Hyderabad. He has published large number of research papers and guided several doctoral candidates. He continues to guide several research projects. He has authored another book – Power System Analysis, Published by BS Publications. |
