About the Author:

Nadia Bukhari is the Chair of the RPS Pre-registration Conferences. She developed the extremely popular and over-subscribed conference, when it first started in 2012. Nadia graduated from the School of Pharmacy, University of London in 1999. After qualifying, she worked as a pharmacy manager at Westbury Chemist, Streatham for a year, after which she moved on to work for Bart's and the London NHS Trust as a clinical pharmacist in surgery It was at this time that Nadia developed an interest in teaching, because part of her role involved the responsibility of being a teacher practitioner for the school of Pharmacy, University of London. Two and a half years later, she commenced working for the School of Pharmacy, University of London as the pre-registration coordinator and the academic facilitator. This position involved teaching therapeutics to Master of Pharmacy students and assisting the director of undergraduate studies.

While teaching undergraduate students, Nadia completed her Post Graduate Diploma in Pharmacy Practice and her Post Graduate Diploma in Teaching in Higher Education. She then took on the role of the Master of Pharmacy Programme Manager, which involved the management of the undergraduate degree as well as being the pre-registration co-ordinator for the university.

Since the merger with UCL, Nadia has now taken on the role of Senior Teaching Fellow in Pharmacy Practice and is the pre-registration co-ordinator for the university. She is also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Nadia has taken on the responsibility of course co-ordinator for the final year MPharm.

Taking her research interest further, Nadia is currently in the third year of her PhD, which she is doing on a part-time basis. Her research area is 'Professional Leadership in pharmacy'.

Nadia's interest in writing emerged in her first year of working in academia. Thirteen years on, Nadia has authored seven titles with the Pharmaceutical Press. She is currently writing her eighth title, which is due to be published in February 2018.
