Environment includes air, water, land and the inter relationship between air water, land and human beings and other living creatures, plants micro-organisms and property. Environment effects the wellbeing of man, animal and plants world over. Man is more advanced in intellect and hence it is the duty of man to protect the environment from undesired pollutions. Global warming, climate change, health hazards, dwindling of forest, water resources and natural resources and stress on biological diversity. During 1990-2015, 177 mammal species lost and 30% of geographical area of animal, habitat also lost. Scientist call this loss biological or sixth mass extinction India is treasure house of worlds flora and fauna is concerned about world life and forests and soils. World populations grew 1000 millions in 1800 AD, 2.5 billion by 1908 AD, 7.5 billions in 2005. At present more than 7.6 billions and projected to exceed 8.6 billions by 2030.

About the Author:

Navale Pandharinath M.sc (Maths) M.sc (Statistics) is a retired director of India Meteorological Dept. He has undergone departmental advanced training in Meteorology at Pune, has rich experience both in Aviation and Non-Aeration weather forecasting, cyclone warnings flood-met-work and agri-met work. He has published about forty papers in Mausam & Vayumandal, departmental journals and in National and International seminars and symposiums. He has published four books – A course in Dynamic meteorology, the Science of Weather and Environment, Aviation Meteorology and Earth and Atmospheric Disasters Management. After retirement he worked as a ground instrumental Meteorology in Andhra Pradesh Aviation Academy and flytech aviation Academy, Hyderabad. He worked as a gust faulty (2013-16) University Centre for Earth and Space science (M.sc oceans and Atmospheric science) at University Hyderabad.
