About the Book

The book “Pharmacognosy and Phytochemistry-A Comprehensive Approach” gives the detailed description of phytochemical importance, occurrence in natural sources, biosynthesis, different methods of processing for formulations and manufacturing, its GMP, different medicinal systems (ayurveda, siddha and unani). The book comprise of six parts containing in thirty well elaborated chapters predominantly dealing with the set of descriptive and analytical methodologies. About the Author

Dr. S. L. Deore, working as Assistant professor at Govt. College of Pharmacy, Amravati (Maharashtra).   B. Pharm. from A.R.A. College of Pharmacy, Dhule. She stood first in all 4 years of B.Pharm. course. She is GOLD MEDALIST in B.PHARM from North Maharashtra University in 2004. She has qualified GATE in 2004 with 90%. M.Pharm. from Govt. College of pharmacy, Amravati in 2006. She has awarded Ph.D.     in pharmaceutical sciences by SGB Amravati University in May 2011. She has isolated two saponins in her Ph.D. work. She has published 35 research papers in various national-international journals about the medicinal plants and herbal drugs. She has presented 25 posters in various national and international conferences. She has authored two books “Plant Biosynthesis” and “Experimental Phytopharmacognosy” for Nirali Prakashan, Pune. She has organized 3 national workshops and 2 state level seminars in her institute. She has guided 17 M.Pharm. students and 3 Ph.D. researchers are going under her guidance. She has filed 4 Indian patents on phytochemicals. She has fetched research grant of 11.5 L from AICTE, Delhi for production of Plant antibodies. She has been awarded with Career Young teacher Award from AICTE, Delhi. Her area of research is isolation of phytochemicals, tissue culture, neutraceutical development, HPTLC analysis and screening of extracts.

Dr. S. S. Khadabadi, Working as Principal at Govt. College of Pharmacy, Aurangabad (Maharashtra). B.Pharm. from Karnataka University, Dharwad in 1983, M.Pharm. from Bangalore University, Bangalore in 1986, Ph.D. from Karnataka University, Dharwad in 1990 and LLB (Spl) from Pune University in 2000. He got FIC from Institution of Chemists (India) in 1992. He has 25 years of teaching experience. He has published 2 reference books, 1 textbook, filed 4 patents and published more than 75 papers in reputed national- international journals. He is Life member of many pharmaceutical professional bodies like IPA, APTI, ISTE etc. He has guided 60 M.Pharm. students and 12 Ph.D. students. He is BOS member of Amravati University, Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University, Nanded and Dr. B. Ambedkar Marathwada Univeristy, Aurangabad. He was Senate member in Principal category in Amravati University. During his professional career spanning 25 years has made distinguished contribution to the advancement of frontiers of knowledge in the areas of pharmacy education, skills in admission processes, introduction of new pharmacy programs and all this work is recognized by Maharashtra Government in 2008-2009 with award of “Best Teacher”.

Dr. B. A. Baviskar, working as Assistant professor at Govt. College of Pharmacy, Amravati (Maharashtra).  B. Pharm. from A.R.A. College of Pharmacy, Dhule (North Maharashtra University in 2004). M.Pharm. from AISSMS College of pharmacy, Pune in 2006. He has recently awarded with Ph.D. in pharmaceutical sciences by SGB Amravati University. He has published 15 research papers in various national-international journals about the synthesis and analysis. He has presented 20 posters in various national and international conferences. He has authored two books “Plant Biosynthesis” and “Experimental Phytopharmacognosy” for Nirali Prakashan, Pune. He has filed 4 Indian patents on phytochemicals. He has very keen interest in microwave synthesis of drug molecules and biological evaluation along with QSAR and docking studies. He is good in handling instruments like HPLC, FTIR etc.
